Integrating Mission and Resource Management by using PLCS, JC3IEDM and Share-A-space
Improving decision quality and reducing time-to-decision.
In the defence industry of today, the supply chains are more complex than ever. At the same time, the requirements on Mission Management are growing. Therefore, the demand for an integrated approach to systems for Mission Management is strong, as well as information about products, systems and related business processes, known as Resource Management. Resource Management is a vital ingredient in the larger Mission Management domain. In order to simultaneously attain efficiency, speed, accuracy and quality of the tools used for Mission Management, they must be integrated with Resource Management. This is achieved by using existing standards, such as ISO10303-239 PLCS and JC3EIDM, in combination with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and Share-A-space®. Thereby a homogeneous Resource Management environment is provided for up-to-date Mission Management - creating the basis for Mission Management with total control.
The Share-A-space® solution Share-A-space® provides an evironment in which tracing and other dependency relationships can be managed. Share-A-space® supports complete configuration change management that can be applied to these relationships. Share-A-space® also provides a comprehensive notification capability in which users can subscribe to and be alerted when changes occur to ¬objects of interest. Inversely, users making changes can identify who should be notified about the change they are making. Share-A-space® is standards based. Therefore, it can migrate information from one system to another in a neutral manner. This means that Share-A-space® provides protection from vendor lock-in of your data. Share-A-space® is not intended to replace your current systems. Instead, it is a transparent infrastructure application. Deploying Share-A-space® in your system will not require major re-training of staff; your systems will simply work better together.
