The PLCS Project
The international Product Life Cycle Support consortia (PLCS Inc) consisted of leading international organizations and government departments. Eurostep personnel lead the development of PLCS and are uniquely qualified to present the information exchange standard for product support, ISO AP239 PLCS, and the continuing work in OASIS, which is reshaping IT integration across the p roduct support domain.
Course content
The Executive Overview gives the background to and explains the concept of PLCS. It also provides an overview of the information covered by the standard. In addition, the overview includes the ongoing work within OASIS with Data Exchange sets and Reference Data Libraries. Finally, ways to exploit the standard are presented.
• Business drivers behind AP239
• How can I use PLCS to make my processes more efficient?
• What demands would implementing PLCS put on my organization?
• A business roadmap for exploiting PLCS
What you will learn from attending
The one day Excecutive Overview of PLCS gives the participant an understanding of why PLCS exists (scope), what information it is concerned with, and in general terms how it can beused. Use cases from implementations are presented, and you will get a feeling of what software support there is for PLCS. The Executive Overview is intended as an introduction for non-technical people, and is very useful as part of a “raising awareness” process in organizations that will use PLCS.
Who should attend?
Everyone with an interest in PLCS is welcome, but the Executive Overview is especially recommended to project and business managers.
