Standards-based PLM
The strategic importance of PLM has recently been accentuated, and it is now recognized as a business critical factor by world leading companies.
PLM is about secure sharing of information within, and between, organizational boundaries over the product's entire life cycle. It concerns all the intellectual property and processes employed to bring a product to market and support its usage, including the management of products as "corporate assets": Reducing cost of ownership and increasing availability and up-time. Standards play an important role in bringing consistency and interoperability to information exchanges. The ISO standard for Product Life Cycle Support, ISO 10303-239 PLCS, is the only standard to address the requirements of product support throughout the complete product life cycle, from concept to disposal. Where adopted it provides data independenc in relation to processes, systems and format. This training introduces you to the concept of PLM, and shows you how it is implemented by using the PLCS standard. Course content: Day 1:
• Content and background of PLM
• Background and overview of the ISO PLCS-standard For more information about the training, please contact Jari Soukas at Eurostep Oy in Helsinki.
