Since its formation in September 1995, the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) has published 3 major releases of the IFCs. These releases consist of specifications defining an object based data model for the AEC industry. Eurostep has toolkits available for all these major IFC releases. IFC Toolbox for C# supports the IFC 2x3 schema. The predecessor of the IFC Toolbox for C# is the original C++ class library toolbox, in widespread use across the globe. The IFC Toolbox for C# provides pure object oriented programming methodology to access IFC data. IFC Classic Toolbox implements a unified C# early binding interface to provide easy access to files based on the IFC schema for both reading and writing. IFC Toolbox for C# is available for the IFC schema 2x3.

Typical applications developed using IFC Classic Toolbox are IFC Import/Export support for AEC CAD-systems.
