What is Share-A-space®?
Share-A-space® is a software application that supports cost effective management of product data, both across the product life cycle and across system and company borders. Share-A-space® works alongside existing product data management tools and is extremely quick to set up when compared to such tools. Share-A-space® can be purchased or just rented for the life of a collaborative project with the project data being archived to an ISO standard file format on project completion.  

How does the basic architecture look?
The architecture in Share-A-space® is separated in three layers. At the bottom there is a C++ layer which communicates with the Oracle database via PLSQL. On top of that is the COM+ business object layer with the business logic and then there is the user interface.

What does the web GUI look like?
This is a sample the user interface. To the left is the administration menu; at the top you see your current settings. To the right is the actions menu, where you operate on Share-A-space® objects and in the middle is the common area and quick search.

Which browsers are supported?
Currently, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Firefox 2.0 is needed to view the Share-A-space® GUI.  

What import formats are supported?
Out of the box we support:
PDMSchema P21, P28 OSEB and ETEB
PLCS Dex1 P21, P28 OSEB and ETEB
Customized import formats are available in customer projects.
CSV format for PDM data and for Serialized Parts

What export formats are supported?
Out of the box we support:
PDMSchema P21, P28 OSEB and ETEB
PLCS P21, P28 OSEB and ETEB (Dex1)
Customized style sheet reports in XML, HTML and Excel.

What databases are supported?
Share-A-space® is based on Oracle. Currently, we support versions 9i, 10g and 10g XE.
